Bleed while I sing my song.
So here I am back alive after the camp at Jalan Bahtera. Ok its kinda exaggerating, but it was tiring. Did I also mention its tiring? Certainly though, this few days was the most fun I've had since coming to JC. I'm not saying JC is boring, but that this camp is really the bomb, mostly thanks to my group Granger, and our 2 prefects. I want to take this opportunities to say something about my group and each person in it (I know I've written it in the letter, but I probably missed out a few things, and I'm gonna reply some stuff written in their letters)
GRANGER-
What can I say? Just like Singapore, this little group of ours maybe small, but we pack a mean punch. The kind of punches that make you go light in the head. In my opinion, we are probably the most effective group in the whole camp, considering that we managed to get at least on par with most groups despite our numbers. Of course, there are disadvantages, such as lack of manpower, but our bonds make up for that (we have strong ionic bonds between each other). Some others may complain that we are close and effective because we are small and hence easier to work with? Well, life isn't fair, so live with it, naysayers. My sincerest hopes that this group will stay as bonded, or become more bonded as time passes.
Now for the people that make up this wonderful team, in alphabetical order:
DELICIA the Delicious -
First off, well done for finishing the vertical challenge with me, I have to admit that was the station that really strained me to my maximum. I kept going though, knowing I couldn't let you down after you took so much courage to climb that, and the team cheering us on. The places you stepped on don't hurt anymore, so don't worry. In fact, you should be proud of yourself, and I think that among all in the group, the one I'm most proud of is you, because you went to do the height elements (7 of them in total) despite your fear of heights, which I think is a very commendable effort. Sure you're quite quiet most of the times, but I'm not much better as well. Glad to see you're enthusiastic about the camp and had fun, hope to get to know you better yeah, same goes for the rest of the team. And of course, I'll do my best to work on my leadership skills. By the way, out of the whole team's cards you're the only one who didn't call me strongman, so congratulations :)
FARID the Spiderman -
Nice knowing you man, and yes I'll remember to say hi to you in school next time, if I see you. Sometimes I may just blank out so I may not notice you, so remember to take the initiative yeah. Congrats on being the only member in the team who was able to grab on and hold to the challenge pole thingy, I think it takes skill to do so. Thank you for bringing fun to the whole group, and also for sharing some of your jokes with us, intentionally or not. Also, I forgot to mention, thank you for being a responsible food I/C, and for leading us in the kayaking expedition. Go forth and lead your soccer team to victory next year ok? I'm sure the school won't mind another CCA finals other than volleyball. Lastly, what's with the flower you drew?
JIANAN the Fireman -
You're more or less a born leader in our group, always taking initiatives to step up and do things for us. Congratulations on winning the seeker award, we all think you deserve it. I didn't really know that I motivated the group physically back then, to be frank, I felt kind of useless because all I could do is physical work, and maybe contribute a few ideas here and there, so I'm glad I could do something for the team. It was really nice knowing you as well, thank you, and may you continue to serve the school well in the council and make us Grangers proud.
MINGTING the BaaBaa -
Yes I started out rather quiet, I'm normally like this in a new crowd. I also hope I'll be able to know you better in future yeah, you seem (and I bet you are) a really fun person. Once again, well done for striving all the way during the kayaking expedition even though you were (at least you looked like) on the verge of collapsing. Kayaking for the first time is not easy, I admit, and especially if you're sick. Others may say you shouldn't have taken the risk, but I think it was a job well done. Also, thank you for being so light, so that it was easier for me to row the kayak back during the return trip. You could have just left it all the way actually, but nice job. All the best for your studies and CCA.
SAMUEL the Birdman -
Maybe I shouldn't call you a birdman because you're afraid of birds, but you'll have to get rid of this fear someday. Animals are wonderful creatures, so embrace them, don't be afraid of them. As to why I can recover quickly, maybe its because I was rowing for 3 years? You also did a commendable effort during the rock climbing wall, where your "half the wall" goal made you go on to finish the whole wall instead, and the group was pleasantly surprised. Also, hope you enjoyed the kayaking 'ride' for a few hundred meters yeah? Thanks also for having such enthusiasm in the group, it really brought life to it. All the best to you in leading the House EXCO to greater heights.
Ok that's all the group members, luckily for my small group, or else this post will last till tomorrow. Last but not least, I have to thank my prefects who took the time to come:
QUELYN -
Thank you so much for taking time off to lead our group, especially since you're having your finals right now. The whole group appreciates your effort that you have put in through out the past few days. We all hope you do well for the exam, and we hope that we have made the camp a memorable one for you, especially because we "forced" you to do the flying fox and abseiling, which you were scared senseless of. Thanks for being so honest with us and giving us your sincere opinions, and also being very personal when talking to us, you made us feel like you were a friend to us rather than a prefect. Its a really unique name you have there though, and its nice knowing both our prefects are of mixed heritage, although I don't really know what difference it makes.
FAUWAZ -
Thanks for being such a big help to the team especially during the building of the raft, giving us hints and ideas when planning it, also helping to tie the raft and teaching us knots when you knew we were short handed. Thanks to that, our group managed to clear the rafting the fastest. Also, thanks for giving us 'entertainment' when you irritated members from the other team. It was kind of stressful for them, but I think it's nice to watch, as long as the victim is not you. With your vast knowledge on the world, I wish you all the best in whatever you do next time, so continue to be irritating, and don't puke in the wrong places next time.
This post is probably the longest I've ever had, but its worth it. You those whom I've mentioned better tag. Or else. Its all my sincerest thoughts, so I'm not hiding anything whatsoever. If you have blogs also, tell me :)
Ok I'm Oscar Mike, can smell my BeeHoon burning.
